No joke, Jack likes to have a specific auction thread for the results to keep it clean.  Word I got from Compran is that it was pretty slim pickins as the preliminary report indicated, I felt like crap and went back to bed and slept another 5 hours, so I didn't even go.  There were 10 pins: TAF ($2500), TZ ($2200), DE Star Wars ($1000), 2 Mario Andretti's (FCM got one for $225), Vector (Spencer got it), Countdown, and a few others.  Vids was nothing overwhelming either, somebody on the board picked up a Popeye for $150 ish, Super Mario Bros they couldn't get to work... that's about all that I heard that was worth mentioning.

I'm sure once the guys get back they'll post a full report with prices.  I think it was over by noon.  So, good thing you stayed home to clean around the house, Leon!  I think about the only thing we DID miss was lunch and hanging out with the group.

I got the Popeye for $125 and a sitdown Crazy Taxi for $700.

It was nice to finally meet some of the members of the board today!

Sure wish I could have made it even if the pickings were slim.  I had a Mario Andretti once and it is not a bad pin.  I would have picked it up also at $225 even though I have already had one.

As I looked at the Mario Andretti backglass, I realized it could be easily re-themed into a Jackie Chan movie theme, as he did one set in the world of formula car racing!

Well what do you get when you cancel then re-schedule your auction 4 days before the fact? Not much.

By far the smallest 'normal' auction I've been to in 15 years. Not even 1 full row of well, anything. Surprisingly decent stuff for what was there. Few classics you don't see too often.

Prices were very up and down. A few good deals definitely, but a few head scratchers as well. Overall like most auctions had more fun seeing and talking to people than actually attending the auction. There were a few games I might have bid on if the weather looked better.. but given the conditions nothing worth risking rain over.

I guess it will be interesting to see if SA! returns in 2010.

Yeah as Jack said, was interesting, actual quality of the machines where good, no dead row, no utter crap, all pretty much worked within reason, some okay deals, just weather made it tricky to judge, some machines went high, all done by 12.30 or thereabouts, some bizarre junk in the random crap section.

Also interesting to see the what could have been 'rent a Auctioneer' maybe the get around from lack of Rob at the auction Huh? playing down the Super Auctions, lots of new faces on the SA side, or whatever company they were from, again good to see the usual crowd and the new members, even thou had a slight hiccup with the new T Shirts  Tongue

Seems like a nice price for the Q'bert. What type of shape was that in?

the QBert was missing sideart on 1 side and the other side the art was all beaten up and curling at edges, Control panel was worn on the edge, needed a good going over, so factor that into overall cost and isnt such a great deal, and add in the 23% fees Tongue

"Centaur $400"

LOL!  You're Fing KIDDING me???  After all that obsessing from Gametron, there was actually one there??? UNBELIEVABLE.

That seems like a good price for that pin, as well as the Star Wars DE.  What were the issues with those if any?

Well i was debating whether to go or not,my car club was hosting The Toys for Tots event this year,so i felt obligated to attend.
I'm glad i went to the car show, i won 2nd place in the 80's division! Kinda bitter sweet though,we were exspecting close to 100 cars only 20 showed up( bad weather) oh well, still a win is a win. Grin
