ron and i saw a sample of what the APE (Arcade and Pinball Exposition 2010) is going to offer. i liked everything i saw, and how they're planning to hype it up in the near future seems to put them dead on the right track. worth the drive if you want to see this live. they say they are on track for 300+ working games...i'll be impressed with a third of that.

I understand why some people wan't nothing to do with this event but I am stoked to play a ton of machines I have only read about and never played.  I can not wait and only hope it is very sucessful for this state and hobby.  I could care less that Russo is involved or that is 3 hours away, this is about the love of the silverball.  I also see this as something that could grow to be just as big as the other national events.  The "X" factor???  How to get people there and playing!  I hope the radio/newspaper/flyer campaign has worked!

I will be driving in Thursday late afternoon to deliver my RS then coming by late afternoon on Friday to molest some pins (especially Daves WH20 and HH!!).  I should be around off and on Saturday too.  See you guys there (cell phone is 8 6 3 8 6 0   6  7 0  6 ).

lou, the promotion guy for jai alai events, seems to be more than on top of advertising for the event. newspaper ads and tv news spots all in the works for this week. marcel is great just with his effort to get this to succeed. they are shooting to be on par with the national events. this is great for year 2 (the slight dip between 2004 and 2010). they all start somewhere. :)

Dave's machines are looking suhweeeeeeeeeeet.

quick comment-

Lots of super cool games, but many seem too close together side by side to avoid hands hitting each other.

Maybe they are just being lined up and will be moved accordingly?

Anyway, trivial comment, not trying to be negative, just observing.

Can't wait to play. Maybe we can start some side tournaments...zen anyone?

lou, i believe, is the marketing director for jai alai.

games are still being received and checked for workability, i'm sure it will look way different on opening night...they have a lot of area to expand into as needed.

This is looking pretty good so far. I was wondering how big it would actually be but if this is what is already there it could be quite the event.

Where's Nokomis, FL?

Right next to Sarasota, halfway between Tampa and Fort Myers.

Dave's machines are looking suhweeeeeeeeeeet.

Thank you!

WH20 still has never been shopped (after the show it's getting done with new ramps, plastics posts, etc.) but it plays GREAT!  FH and HH are recently shopped, but I'm upset I didn't fix a few things on FH (it would have been too small of a parts order after it was discovered).

Looking forward to seeing you guys next Saturday.

Thanks for the pics, Chris!
