At this point, your best bet is to look on our FLiPS boards when a FLiPS host says guests welcome or open house. These happen a few times a year for example at Ron Donohue's or Brian Styles'.  Some other members sometimes say guests allowed.

When the FLiPS hosts have room, they will say/post guests invited, otherwise it is a closed event for FLiPS members. Most guests of FLiPS from the tri-country area, the Village and from across the state understand what limitations we at FLiPS have.

If every single person who has ever been to a FLiPS event was invited every single time,  each event would be the size of APE, SPF, GW, LSOG, etc. I and FLiPS members know a LOT of people.

So no, it is not like waiting 5 years for season tickets per se, but the amount of FLiPS friends and guests is so large that unfortunately we cannot invite everybody on the village to every event.

I am always thrilled at the level of excitement for our club, but there are more people interested in joining than most hosts can accommodate.

Feel free to PM me anytime you see a FLiPS event advertised and ask if guests are allowed. I will contact the host and let you know.

Thanks for that info, Dean.  I had not checked my calendar yet.  Sunfest is the biggest fundraiser of the year for my wife's charity, so I know she will be volunteering the entire weekend.  I will have the kids and will not be able to attend.  I would love to make it down to Ian's place, but family will always win.

Ian, who is currently not a forum member, extends his thank yous to all who came, as well as to all who could not make it.

As for the tournament, participants played up to 3 games on 6 machines, and wrote their scores down on a score-card.
Cards were turned in, and only the highest scores per machine, per player, were annotated on a spreadsheet.
Depending on the score amount, a range of point values, from 1 to the total number of participants, were given for each player.
The higher score, the higher the value.
In this case there were 12 participants, so the range is 1 to 12. For each machine, the highest score would get 12,  lowest score would get 1.
In the end, adding up all 6 point values for each player, would give me the final rankings.

The SG award was very happily accepted, but unfortunately could not be transported due to obvious reasons.
So it still is in my possession.
Sorry no photos were taken. It sat outside and was used as the landmark.
