Wacky Packages!
« on: August 19, 2015, 09:27:32 PM »
Ok, not really a toy, but I was flat out addicted to Wacky Packages.  I have an uncut sheet of series 1 framed somewhere.  Anyone collect them?

I collected them. Liked them more than Garbage Pail Kids. I might have to dig mine out now, haven't seen them in years.

They were just a few years before my time, but I still managed to acquire a few decades ago and have them hidden away somewhere :).

I think I was confusing Garbage Pail Kids with Wacky Packages.
Wacky Packages really were some awesome creation and spin on normal household stuff.
Who here collects these?

I didn't know these existed until they started reprinting them a few years ago (Topps runs them in parallel with the Garbage Pail Kids).

In fact if memory serves Garbage Pail Kids started off as a wacky package entry but then they decided to spin it off into it's own series which ended up replacing the Wacky Packages line.

Anyway they are definitely entertaining.

Very big into the Wacky Packages... I'm thinking about 1976 or so had a big stack of them.   Some of the first vivid depictions of snot on product that you could buy....  That seems pretty boring today, but back in the mid 70's... that was prettttty cool....
Present....Countdown, CCR, BBH, NGG, EBD, DILE...

This is the first time I've heard of them.  Seems interesting though.
