Sub for Playing / Scoring / Etc
« on: June 28, 2016, 12:34:04 PM »
We had a suggestion to add a sub specifically for posting scores and such. Just gauging interest. We could expand it to encompass any actual 'playing' be it game play tips or scoring tips.

We'll run the poll for a week and see what everyone says.

The alternative would obviously be to just post the playing stuff in the main forum like we do now.

i think it would be cool to see how others score on games. some here are tournament players and some are casual players.  would be cool to see scores.  more FL based scores rather than national tournament high scores.  might bring interest back to some of the games in your collection that you havent played in some time too.

I remember a few years ago we used to have a weekly game (usually from the 60-1 list) and everyone would post scores for bragging rights for the week.

This would be cool. I have actually been playing some new games that I wasn't good at as a kid - Circus Charlie, Satan's Hollow, Tapper - and now that I am getting better at them it would be cool to see how my scores compare with other scores.
Current Barn Want List: Quantum, Timber, Star Castle, Zookeeper, Congo Bongo, Journey, Black Widow, Warlords C/T, Williams Duramold, Nibbler or Eyes.

Hit me up if you have any of these for sale, complete, project, or otherwise.

yeah   it could have the standard set up in the beginning with settings and or number of balls.   maybe a monthly average too.    that would kinda give us an average joe score too.

I voted for yes.

Might not be a huge amount of activity at first, but sometimes I just wanna' play games and talk about scores like I did in the '80's.  You went to the local arcade and hung out and compared scores (and if a good friend, helpful hints) with friends.  Sometimes it helped you get better!

I'm in favor of it.  Mods can always shut it down if it is a no go.

I remember we ran a couple of these IIRC around the Donkey Kong hype.  Was still fun posting my scores against you guys in the internet age.

Happy gaming,
Big Al

I think a high score subforum is actually a decent idea, but rest assured if you create one some here will ask for you to split it further between pins and vids ;) :P

sure why not have different sections.  for me its all about playing the games and just having some gauge of if i am a decent player or sucky  player lol.  tournaments isnt a big draw for me but others like it.  and there are tournaments already but not really an average joe level of play.  plus if it gets us guys/gals to explore more games and play more it would be a win all the way around.

We can either have different sub groups or have people start their posts with ARCADE or PINBALL

We already have a sub for console game playing

The MAME scores could be posted with a MAME tag

I don't want 50 subs choking up the place either, we can make it work

so, we need to post console scores in a seperate section as opposed to a sub forum under game scores?
