JAX Expo 2017 - Postponed

Sorry for the slow response to all of the questions about JAX 2017.  For this year we were looking at a much bigger venue and signed a contract for the first weekend of March at a new location with more than 5 times as much space as our previous events.  Unfortunately, because of a variety of issues we have decided to postpone the show.  We are still looking at making it happen sometime in the future but we don’t have a timeline as of right now. 

We do want to thank everyone for their continued support and understanding and we will post updates as we know more.

I can't imagine all the time and work it takes to put on one of these shows and do it right.  You and Steve with help from others have done an amazing job.  Your show will be missed by many but it is certainly understandable why it is being postponed.

Planning a show is a massive investment so best to wait a bit then rush into something that may be problematic.

I've enjoyed the shows you've done thus far and i'm sure when you do the next one it will be equally awesome.. can't wait!

Any update on 2018?

We were working towards a show in early 2018 at a new venue but due to some changes in their management the rate went up significantly before we could lock it in place.  The new price was enough that we had to step back and reevaluate, so for now there isn't anything in place as we look for other options.

Some things have changed that might lean towards a show happening so Steve and I are going to get together and discuss it again.  Still, at this point there is no show but at least we're looking to see what it will take. 

Thanks for the offer of help though as a big part of any future JAX will be a bigger pool of volunteers.  I'm sure all of the other show organizers will say the same thing: its is a gigantic effort taking months of work and it puts a lot of stress on family and already busy schedules.
