Mod..
its really simple to do.. adds a TON of fun to the system.. and if you want to revert back you just check 2 boxes and its back to factory default..

or you can sell it to me and you will never have to worry about that question again ;)

I don't really see the reason to mod something that sells for as much money as the NES classic goes for when you can just get a raspberry Pi and do even more with it.

honestly, the pi is cool... but it plays games like crap.

I would mod it, it doesnt damage anything and you make a back up when you do it, so you can always flash it back.

mod it.

it's 60 bucks. if people are overpaying for it, they'll overpay even more for a properly modded one.

I personal think the fact it could be modded is why desirability went thru the roof.

I modded mine.  It's dead simple and it adds so much to the little system... and it plays everything like a dream.  I put it in the break room at work for my employees to play.  It's a big hit.

It's called Hakchi2.  You can get it here: https://gbatemp.net/threads/hakchi2-nes-mini-very-simple-pimp-tool.456256/

Using that tool I loaded it with ROMs that were naturally all legally obtained.  Mostly just classics, like a few more Megaman games, Battletoads, Tetris, River City. stuff like that.  I think I have about 75 or so games on mine now.

only 75? ;) the system will take all 656 US games that are actually supported and most of the japanese releases.. I mean.. IF you needed to know..    Also you can TECHNICALLY load emulators for GB/SNES etc.. but unless you do a 2 button system and dont want all the US roms. Adding Emulators is dumb.

LOL, I figured I'd stick to the games that I'd actually play.  Navigating all 600+ games can be a chore.

Its simple page hopping and there are some games I would have never played otherwise that might be time burners.. I know what I am going to do once mine gets here this week. (scored 2 off the amazon treasure truck)

I have a great plan setup for mine.  First step to mod it.

I still haven't modded mine.  I'm afraid that I will screw it up.

I have modded multiple classics.. 2 that I sold on craigslist, 1 for a friend, and the first one I owned that I sold.. all are working just fine no issues.
