i've been repairing all printers since 1995. if you buy laser, make sure you know the cost of a ETB/belt and or drum...those items are the most costly in color laserjets.
otherwise, yes...go laser, and never look back. and you can use generic toners off amazon/eBay, but when you receive one, get a garbage can and just shake them a bit when you receive them...if any toner leaks out, return it now.
this was a nice thread. i've repaired inkjets and offered for free, but ink cost is how they all make the money. give away the cow, sell the milk....something like that.
