Last Nights Pick-up
« on: August 12, 2017, 10:54:55 AM »
I keep saying I'm taking a break and then something cool pops up. I picked up a decent Escape From the Planet of Robot Monsters #165 out of 371 dedicated machines. Works great and the guy owned it since high school. Needs a lot of cleaning and all new art. The marquee is faded and the cpo is yellowed. New stuff already ordered. Burn free monitor and plays great. Fun game and it amazes me there is still rare stuff out there

I got a good deal on it. They were just looking for some moving money. I'm going to restore it. 1k is actually not high considering a conversion just sold for $1300 on KLOV.

That's a pretty rare game so the prices have been pretty high of recent. A dedicated at $1k would be a steal at this point so even at that price good pick up!

are they rare? i've seen a bunch in person, passed on them at 300 bucks, albeit with white paint speckles from a crappy wall paint job.

Yes K7 they are rare. Only 371 made. It's hard to know how many were converted. Kits bring big money too.

I've seen a handful over the years.. only a handful.

It's one of those games where if you see it for anywhere near a reasonable price.. buy it.

Wow... I didn't know that they were such a low run either. I first saw and played it at the Dayton Arcade Museum (dedicated) - loved the game!! It reminded me very much of Zombies Ate My Neighbors, just a fun platforming game. I'd added it to my short list of desired dedicated cabs, but with that kind of rarity... Wow

Awesome pick up!

It's a great game, I remember seeing it as a kid at our local arcade in Cutler Ridge Mall in South Miami.

I scored one last year, a decent dedicated also. Pulled it out of a barber shop. Didn't even try to haggle his asking was $400 when I got to the barber shop he was having people over to watch a Monday night football game so I just wanted to grab it and get out of there. I play it a lot with my youngest son he loves it.

I thought it would be great to take it to SFGE didn't think anyone else would bring one but No there ended up being 2 there at SFGE pretty funny for rare dedicated machines.

Rich from This Old Game had a New Marquee that he just made from original films WOW it looked great. He has the Cpo overlays also both pieces not sure if is going to do the dedicated side art though, I would like to place a complete order but I might just order what he got's now and wait on side art before they are gone.
