not really. HFK's part is probably on a FedEx truck that got stuck in traffic, and it ended up looping back to the distribution center. :)

i got parts in 1 day from Tampa (usps priority) for a mini cooper i'm working on. there's no rhyme or reason why stuff gets lost in the matrix for any of the movers.

my favorite is why an urban purchase gets shipped via FedEx to a semi-local post office, where it gets delivered via the post office. why?

Yesterday it went to another fedex in Tampa called fedex smartpost. Now it is in transit to the US Postal service in Sarasota still showing a Thursday delivery. Seriously, what the hell is this all about? They took a package that was less than 30 miles from it's destination and sent it through 5 different fedex locations across the state and now it is going to the postal service and all in the reasonable time of one week  . I know never to use them again, UPS or USPS all the way.

that's it...FedEx smartpost. i have no idea why that is even an option. doesn't it cost more to use 2 shippers for 1 package? plus, the fedex driver probably drives past your home on the way to the post office where the item is resorted, rerouted, and probably another 2 days out from getting delivered.

i don't get that service. and still prefer Fedex over USPS, UPS (shill charges...), and DHL.

I ordered from Twisted Quarter on Wednesday 4/4.  I'm in Clearwater, right across the bridge and my package is now in Orlando, scheduled delivery 4/11.  One week to go 30 miles.

The problem is when you choose FedEx smart post I found out. I placed an order Monday and used regular FedEx ground and had it here Tuesday morning. Sure it cost a couple dollars more but I still saved on time and aggravation of driving up there and plus I got my package the next day.

Does TQ give a USPS option?  If so I'd never do anything else for in state delivery.

It's all jacked either way though.  Services getting worse while we constantly pay more.

Like I said you have to use the second cheapest option with fedex to get it next day now, about $2 more. Still sucks. UPS is doing this crap now too, I think it is called Quantum or something were it eventually gets to your post office to be delivered. I place an order two weeks ago with an out of state company that usually only takes 2 days to get here but with this quantum crap it took a full week.

I just shipped a laptop off a no-money eBay sale. choice was usps, $14.85...fedex ground, $13.78, or fedex Smartpost...$12.09.

let's test this smartpost crap out then...

so I print the label, it's all USPS tracking numbers. and I am instructed to only drop it off at a limited FedEx store choice or some fedex smartpost box scattered throughout the city.

let's see how this goes. :(

edit: dropped at fedEX...sales clerk says it has both USPS and FedEx tracking numbers, and can go to either location.

FedEx ground was 3 days, FedEX smartpost was 2 to 7 days. lets see how it tracks to pecos, texas.

9 days...and wow. so even FedEX will lie to you. i dropped this off at FedEX, and asked him how smartpost works. he said it gives both a USPS tracking number and a FEDEX tracking number (which i didn't even notice on the label at first glance), so the sender could take it to either place. he also said once FedEX has it, it's all FedEX to the recipient's address. that's not true.

add to that, i end up with a jackazz on eBay, who opened a return case on a no-return, 99 cent laptop. his reason? seller said FedEX shipping in the auction, and it was delivered by the post office. :o

read in reverse of how mine routed out...

Yeah, there's like a day delay too from TQ when it changes hands from FedEx to USPS. It ALWAYS changes hands. Never had one delivered by actual FedEx through SmartPost.

mine took 2-3 days to get from florida to texas. nothing in the system of it being dropped off in boynton beach, though, which is weird.

then it took 6 days to get from texas to um, texas. :(

moronic service option. more hands, more traveling, cheaper by a dollar for all the extra movement and hands on the package.

fedex ground would have been 3 days. and the post office is stupid expensive nowadays for whatever reason.
