In search of a monitor repair tech
« on: March 13, 2018, 11:04:57 PM »
I live in Midway, GA (just south of Savannah right off of I-95) and I am looking to get a couple of monitors worked on. I am willing to travel to get this work done. I'd prefer someone closer but I can't be choosey.

1) 27" Wells Gardner - Picture is dim and fuzzy. I am thinking this is a refresh / recap job.

2) 29" Unkown manufacturer - When powered up there is no neck glow and it just buzzes.

My Stuff: Sega Showcase cab (TTX2 Multi); Capcom Big Blue (Gen 2) (HyperSpin); Namco cab (246/256 Multi); Dynamo HS-5 (Taito F3); Atomiswave (Ranger Mission); Atomiswave (Naomi 2 Multi); Area 51 (Dedicated); Sega Blast City x2; Area 51 (SharpShooter)(Project); Korean Crowin 302 (empty)(Project);NASCAR twin sitdowns (Xbox 360)(Project)

#1 could be bad flyback , or bad focus adjustment/tube rejuv. , chassis looks like a U5000 as i don't see the Horiz width coil to the right of the one heatsink.

I appreciate the insight! Any idea what #2 is?

To be honest I would trade both of those and some 19" monitors I have (untested and some have screen burn) for a fully working / clean 27". It's out of my Namco cab whish is a favorite of mine (that I play allot) .. and to be honest I don't really need the 29" as I don't have a cab to put it in. I just hate having non working stuff like that laying around.

I don't have the skill set to work on monitors .. but somehow I keep amassing non working ones....

The second one looks a sharper image or a makvision
Just pull the chassis and send them out
