Most of the time I work just a few miles from Panama City Beach, Im gonna try to go out there tomorrow and check it out. Seems to be pretty much over here in Niceville, barely even raining anymore. I still cant believe it, seeing as how it was only a couple mphs from being a CAT 5 when it came onshore. Dodged a bullet, hopefully Raikus and everyone closer to it  are doing OK.

Hope everyone comes out ok, with Matthew we didn't have any damage until after all the rains had past, it was all the wind from the back side of the storm that did the most damage.  Stay safe everyone.

Any more news?  Looks like those in the direct path and just west of storm got pounded good.
This thing was crazy.

What a miserable mess.   :-\ :'(

Good to hear Rob!

Where exactly are you located in the panhandle?

Were you on the east side or west side of storm and how extensive in your opinion will the damage be where you are?
Getting all sorts of mixed info on news.  Mexico Beach we know got pounded and areas of Panama City were damaged but the news can sensationalize so we'll almost never know unless we see with our own eyes or know someone reporting first hand.
It obviously hit stronger than anticipated and they are now blaming 4-6 degree warmer gulf waters for this.

NOAA and the forecasters didn't have all this info going in?  Their computer models didn't know sea temperatures our in front of storm?  Of course they did.
Crazy.

hope everything held up fine. :) the news reports vs the videos the news showed and iPhone videos being posted didn't match up.

Panama city is obliterated. Both my great aunt and moms cousin lost their houses, completely wiped off the map.

I'm looking at pictures today. This is terrible.
Looks like maybe this was a narrow buzz saw wiping out a lot in its path with pretty bad ancillary damage surrounding it.
Very sad. I feel really bad for all who went through this.
