Jukebox Price Guide?

Hello All,

  During the purge of my game room (       ), I have been debating if I want to sell my fully working 1972 Rowe-Ami MM6 Bourbon jukebox (working as a 1970's jukebox does, that is). While I naturally know how much I paid for it and how much time/money I put in to make the jukebox work, I was wondering if anyone knew of a price guide that might help me to gauge how much to ask when selling it?

The jukebox market has tanked right along with the rest of things. Unless it's a Wurlitzer bubbler, they just don't hold their value. I'm gonna say $400 - $600 for nice, clean, working. I'm judging that by seeing as-is machines at auction for less than $200, so I would think CL would get you more.

The market sucks...and the 70's models are BY FAR the least desirable even though they sound the best (typically). People want the looks and styling of the oldies. I think you will have trouble selling it for over $300. I would ask for $250 for it or trade for a beat up pin if I were you.

Did you ever decide to sell this machine?  Is it already gone?  Where are you located?  I'm nowhere near Florida, but I'm willing to travel, if necessary.

I have a 1972 Bourbon Street, as well.  It was my parents, and I grew up dancing to the oldies on it.  Unfortunately, it's in horrible playing condition, and I'm hoping to have it repaired or get another one just like it...

I think you guys may be a little high on your pricing.  Pretty much any juke, with a few exceptions, built after 1960 is pretty much worthless.  I see working 60s, 70s, 80s and 90s jukes going for less than $100 all the time.

No price police, just making a comment and sharing some experiences in the jukebox world.  If you can get more than $100 for a working 60s - 90s jukebox, more power to you.  I'm going out into my gameroom and play my Seeburg Disco 160 jukebox that I picked up for $25, working and full of 45s.

Rich are there 45's in there you'd be interesting in selling? I am looking for like 70's disco and soul, or 60's soul. Anything?

Oh and I got my MM1 Music Merchant (somewhat cool quasi-Jetsons styled 1967 machine) for the princely sum of zero dollars. A switch isn't working but otherwise spins, picks up and plays when prompted manually. Just need to diagnose that switch mis-read thing and I'm in business, I am pretty sure.

Hey Matt,  Sorry- I got rid of those 45s years ago.  Mostly 90s hiphop and r&b...not my speed.  It is now stocked with early 80s 45s to match the theme of my gameroom.  --Rich  ps. There used to be a store off of Brandon Blvd in Brandon that had a pretty good selection of vinyl 45s, used CDs, used DVDs and used video tapes.  I'm not sure if they are still there or not.  There was also a good used vinyl place in Orlando on the east side of College Park in what I used to call "Antique Store Row".  Hopefully some of the Brandon/Tampa guys and Orlando guys can clean up my directions if you are interested in finding these stores.  --Rich

Bananas Music in St. Pete has the largest selection of 45s in the area.  It will truly blow your mind.  They have two buildings filled with millions (yes millions) of records.  Make sure you find the area with the discount records ($1 each), which is ideal for filling your jukebox.

The various Sound Exchanges (Brandon, Tampa, St Pete) also normally have stacks of 45s for cheap.
