sloppy shooter rod

my DE Hook has a sloppy shooter rod so I got a sleeve for it but it won't fit. Does anybody know if I can just drill the hole bigger to accept a sleeve or do I need a new holder?

That does not make sense to drill a hole.  Are you sure you have the right parts? Shooter sleeves are typically not the same size as coil sleeves.  Is the plate the correct size?

You should not have to go through such efforts to install a basic part.

return them as wrong part sent. i wouldn't drill anything yet. can't you get a whole shooter assembly for around 25 bucks?

i'm probably thinking of the wrong sleeve, i'm thinking of the one that sits around the rod...meaning you would be drilling metal?

you ordered the new sleeve because the shooter rod was floppy. wouldn't drilling out things to make a sleeve that's too big fit just lead to an even worse condition AND ruin the cabinet/shooter?

I got just a plain old shooter rod sleeve not a coil sleeve and not one with a flange all I would be doing is drilling the hole in the plate larger for the sleeve to fit in it fits nicely around the rod itself and yes Chris I would be drilling metal

Terry has sent me wrong parts on numerous occasions (always made it right). Does the shooter rod fit in the sleeve with no appreciable slop?

shooter rod fits the sleeve perfectly that why I don't see a problem just drilling the plate. whats the worst that could happen?

Drilling the plate is not problem in the equation. A hole had to put there in the first place, and I am sure at one time there was a shooter and sleeve associated with that plate.

I am sure you can rig up something to make it work, but seriously, doesn't it seem odd to you to have to break out the power tools to install a shooter sleeve? Something clearly is not right with part assembly.

I did a bit of research and found out some had bushings in them, (2 one at each end) I think this might be my case they are available but I cant get what seems to be left of them out of the plate

I have rebuilt several shooter assemblies and I have no idea what you guys are talking about.
