I don't think the 48's have trackball support.

I know *some* of the 60's do, but am fairly certain that the 39's and 48's didn't...

I could be wrong...

no trackball in the 48 in 1, its only the 60 in 1 that offers T/b features, and even then seems flaky

Thanks guys.

Next question. Should I put the Simpson's board and trackball on ebay together or should I sell the separately.

well a dirty old t/b probably doesnt have too much value on its own anymore, so I would just bundle the lot together, and include the t/b harness etc, so its a complete kit to convert any JAMMA cabinet

I also have a few questions:

Is there info somewhere what games are included in the 48-1 boards, and also the 60-1 boards?  Is Gorf on either of them?

Is there someplace you can direct me to purchase parts I need to convert my Phoenix, such as a new control panel (probably want something more like a Gorf controller, like that trigger type joystick) and Jamma harness, buttons, etc.

I'm sure you guys will help me with this, but just don't know where you usually go to get needed parts from.

Thanks,

Jeff

well for reference you can go to http://www.jammaboards.com/store/60-in-1-multigame-pcb/prod_212.html and you can check out the list of games, Im not sure a Gorf controller is the best thing for playing pacman and the like, but all down to personal taste, Tim at Jammaboards sells JAMMA harness, also try this link for more info as well http://www.lizardlickamusements.com/pages/multi_jamma_faq.shtml, a  new CP is easy enough to construct just replicate the old one, if you want any help just PM or call me, Thanks Mick

Thanks Mick,

I agree I'm not sure if a Gorf controller is good for anything else EXCEPT Gorf...maybe Gyruss...I also like it for Galaga/ Galaxian also...actually I like it for a lot of the shoot em up games (that's the type of controller I'm using now on my computer for the Mame stuff and I prefer it for most things). But yeah, maybe need something ELSE for Pac games and similar.  I don't really know WHAT the best thing is right now, just want to look around, probably make some kind of custom control panel(s) with a few different options...or maybe thinking of getting a few that I can swap out for certain games if that's feasible?

I'll take a look at those sites, and don't worry, I'm sure I'll be calling you with questions! :)

My Naomi Cabinet, has a switchable CP so i can unplug and switch out from trackball games, to a regular joystick etc, with a xx in 1 board you could switch out CP, its more probably for a MAME cabinet that would work better, but yes you could do that, as for joysticks its got to be a SANWA ball top 4 way, nice feel to them and work great! depending on the Cabinet, a few wooden top CP's with different layouts would be cool, and if you modded the JAMMA harness to suit, would be real easy
