Sup doodz.
Just curious about multicades, is there a good how-to primer out there? You guys using MAME?
I was just thinking I have buds that have dead arcade cabs, I have old PC's running Linux, etc.
Was thinking if you could get a "real" arcade cab with a "real" screen (not some computer monitor zzzz) and get a video card that supports that monitor, you are good to go. I found instructions that let you boot xubuntu linux right into MAME. I am very familiar with ubuntu/xubuntu, since I use it at home.
Is it possible to take an old 2player arcade cabinet and rewire it (to a keyboard controller or something) and make it work with a PC?
Was wondering if the above is impossible, a crap waste of time, and/or what exactly it takes and especially where to find good info on good stuff.
I know they have NIB stuff, is that the overall best way to go?
Are the "good" ones all licensed? I'd like to play like anything from old-ass nintendo coin-ops, Galaga, Pole Position, 70's raster games, Street Fighters, Ninja Turtles Arcade (yes I love that piece of shit, my guilty pleasure), Simpsons Arcade, Metal Slug, Neo Geo fighters, maybe even SNES or Genesis stuff, etc. on one upright.
Any input?
